Starting School

All children can attend school full-time in the September following their fourth birthday.
We expect that most parents or carers will accept this full-time offer. However, children do not have to go to school full-time until the term after their fifth birthday if their parents or carers do not want them to, as this is the compulsory school age.

Children will continue at Aldeburgh Primary School until the end of Year 6.

Suffolk County Council is responsible for admissions and so for all Admission Information please go to:

https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/children-families-and-learning/schools/school-places/

Our catchment area is Aldeburgh, but there may not automatically be a place for your child if the year group is full. There is a strict timetable for applications and closing dates must be adhered to.

Parents of prospective pupils are welcome to visit the school. To make an appointment please speak to a member of the school office, tel 01728 452150. Mrs Julie Cook is the first point of contact for all your enquiries. Office hours are:

8.30 am - 12.00 and 1.00 - 3.15 pm Monday to Friday

All new parents will be invited to meet the Headteacher during the half-term before the child starts school.
